Implementation

Implementing Clinical Alerts consists of a small number of coordinated steps that establish eligibility, delivery, and operational readiness. Each step serves a distinct purpose and is owned either by your organization or by Health Gorilla.

The implementation flow establishes how activation, delivery configuration, enrollment, and monitoring work together to support alert generation and delivery.

Implementation Flow

Clinical Alerts implementation follows this sequence:

  1. Tenant and solution activation
  2. Delivery configuration and endpoint readiness
  3. Patient enrollment configuration
  4. Alert generation and delivery
  5. Monitoring and optimization

Each step builds on the previous one. Alert generation and delivery occur only when all required steps are complete.

Tenant and Solution Activation

Clinical Alerts must be activated for the tenant before enrollment or alert delivery can occur. Activation establishes product access and enables alert processing.

Health Gorilla performs activation as part of onboarding or implementation coordination. Your organization does not activate Clinical Alerts directly through APIs or configuration.

Once activation is complete, delivery and enrollment configuration can proceed.

Delivery Configuration

Delivery configuration defines how alerts are delivered to your system and where notifications are sent. Your organization is responsible for:

  • Selecting the delivery format
  • Defining and validating the delivery endpoint
  • Confirming that your system can receive and process alerts

Delivery configuration controls transport and payload format. It does not determine which patients are monitored.

Patient Enrollment

Patient enrollment defines which patients are eligible to generate alerts. Enrollment is evaluated prospectively at the time qualifying document-driven activity is processed.

One enrollment model is selected per tenant:

  • Limited group enrollment, managed by your organization
  • All-tenant group enrollment, managed by Health Gorilla Enrollment configuration and ongoing maintenance depend on the selected model.

Alert Generation and Delivery

When qualifying document-driven activity is detected for an enrolled patient, Health Gorilla generates an alert and delivers it using the configured delivery method.

Alerts indicate that qualifying activity occurred and reference related encounters and documents. Alerts do not include clinical document content. When follow-up review is required, documents are retrieved using Patient360.

Monitoring and Optimization

Ongoing monitoring supports reliable delivery and expected alert volume as enrollment and patient populations change.

Your organization is responsible for:

  • Monitoring delivery endpoints
  • Validating alert receipt and processing
  • Reviewing alert behavior over time
